Ernest was natural in Sorau, Brandenburg. Brandenburg being located in Germany, Ernest was born(p) on January 29, 1810. His father was a physician who died when Ernest was three familys old. Ernest was send-off married to Ottilie Mendelssohn. His second wife, Bertha was a maternal cousin of Ottilie. He had 13 children and his daughter Marie married the mathematician Hermann Schwarz.
